You’ll need a tape measure and a pen. In order to obtain the best-fitting garment, resist the urge to flex, adjust your posture, or suck in your stomach. It is best to be measured without any clothing.
We recommend standing sideways towards a mirror in order to see that the tape measure is level and at the correct position for the measurement. The tape measure should not dig into the skin and should not be loose or slide down.
Please refer to our Info & Sizing page for information on how to take your own measurement to get a perfect fit of our Fajas.
Immediately take the garment off. If you ordered your garment from Contour Fajas direct, please verify the measurements that you used when placing your order and contact us by email info@contourfajasnigeria.com. If you received the garment from your doctor, please call them to verify you have a correctly sized garment.
Yes. We always recommend you should re-measure every time you place a new order. Details on how to measure can be found here. We also recommend purchasing two garments, one to wear and one to wash.
Stage 1 garments are made using a softer material and they are usually worn for the first 1-10 days following your procedure. Their sole purpose is to support the body after the trauma of surgery so only provide light to medium compression.
Stage 2 garments are made using the highly innovative powernet fabric providing high compression to the required surgical site. The Stage 2 Faja is used to reduce swelling and contour the body. It is worn immediately after the stage one for a period between 6-12 months.
To make sure the garment retains its elastic properties, follow the below instructions. For further instructions, see garment care here.
- Hand wash in cool or cold water using mild detergent. To minimize bloodstains, wash as soon as possible. A pre-soaking solution of a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide in a gallon of water may help remove blood stains.
- Line or air dry. Do not dry clean.
- Do not use bleach, stain removers or fabric softener – these may harm the stretch and moisture handling properties of this fabric.
Normally, your physician will recommend a style based on the type of surgery you have chosen. The physician has the final decision, but we can guide you to the best options based on your procedure if your doctor didn’t recommend one. Please feel free to contact us by email for assistance info@contourfajasnigeria.com.
We always recommend talking to your physician for their recommendation based on your procedures and recovery. However, we are able to give a guided timeline for usage based on the information provided by surgeons we work with around the world. The Stage 1 Faja is used immediately after surgery typically for a period of 1-10 days. The Stage 2 Faja is used immediately after this for a period of at least 3-6 months. After 6 months you can use our Contour Waist Trainer to continue reducing your waist or for maintenance of your new body shape.
Many physicians worldwide prescribe compression garments for a period of at least 3-6 months as a minimum. After a month or so, you may feel completely recovered, but remember, the hard work of healing is going on beneath the surface of the skin, where you can’t see it. It is important to ensure that you continue using your Faja to contour the body during the full recovery period.
During your recovery your garment will become loose and will need to be altered smaller or a new one purchased. For those arranging to have the garment altered we recommend asking the seamstress to use the rear seams not the sides for alterations.
The Stage 1 Compression Bundle can be purchased prior to surgery as it is needed immediately after. We recommend using the size chart tab on the product page to select the correct size based on your current hip measurements and include your waist measurement and height in the order notes so it can be customized if required. The hip measurement is taken around the body at the widest part of the buttocks. If your measurement is at the top end of the size please order the next size up.
For your bespoke made to measure Stage 2 Faja our recommendation is that you measure yourself after your surgical procedure to ensure the best possible fit. We recommend measuring at 4 or 5 days post op, after your massage if possible. If you need any assistance with measuring or need any advise please contact us by email info@contourfajasnigeria.com.
In order to preserve the special qualities of your bespoke faja and its highly innovative fabric please follow these no-hassle laundering instructions while washing only with like colours:

To achieve the maximum wearing time, which promotes optimal healing conditions, we recommend you should have a second garment to wear while the other is being washed.
